Beauty Bite: Barry M's Matte Nail Paint in 'Vanilla'

I have been itching to get my hands on one of these for a very long time. After a long time standing at the Barry M stand in Superdrug I made one of the hardest decisions a girl can make. Which nail varnish do I get? Gelly, textured or Matte? Which shade? Then this beauty caught my eye. This is the matte nail paint in 'Vanilla'.

This little gem came in at a bank account friendly price of £3.99 which for something as great as this, you can't go wrong. I was worried due to the hype of the 'Gelly' Barry M nail polishes (Which I unfortunately STILL haven't tried) that these would be over-hyped and I would be wasting my money. I could not have been more wrong!! 

 I will admit I expected the colour to be a bit more of a grey shade but I was pleasantly surprised when it turned out to be a sort of pale purple/muted brown/light grey on my nails. It's an odd colour to describe but I  love it! I wouldn't say that 'Vanilla' suited the colour of the polish but we'll let that slide...

This applied really well! I was worried about it drying too quickly but it didn't. It gave you enough time to apply it before it dried but when it was applied, it dried so much more quickly than I had originally anticipated. 

I applied one coat of this nail varnish and it gave one even thick layer which didn't need an extra coat which is something I always look for! (I'm too impatient for applying loads of coats of nail varnish!) So far no chipping, but that's only with a few hours wear, we'll see how it holds up!

Beauty Bite: My Top 3 Favourite Necklaces

I actually ordered this necklace off Ebay. It was  a recent purchase but I new the minute I saw it, I just had to get it! It's absolutely adorable! It's a dainty silver coloured necklace with two lovebirds sat on a branch. I bought it for £2.50 but the person who sold it actually has their own website which I linked below! The website has some gorgeous stuff on it, so take a look on there too.

Next is a beautiful silver daisy chain necklace. Each flower has a gem in the centre. I actually noticed this necklace after I was hunting for the actual daisy chain necklaces I'd seen in Claire's Accessories and Accessorize. In one of my local sea side towns there are many little boutiques which sell gorgeous pieces like this one. This cost me £12 but I use it all the time so the money was worth it!

And finally, this is a little bargain from Matalan! It was on sale for £2 and came with a pair of 'pearl' earrings. This is another necklace that goes with nearly anything and that I adore. It's actually heavier than I expected but I still love it!

Beauty Bite: Real Techniques Powder Brush

So I finally have done it. I've bought myself my very first Real Techniques make up brush! Using my birthday money I decided to buy something I've always wanted. I chose the powder brush as I thought that this is the brush I use most regularly and to be honest, I was just dying to try it! I was at first a little worried about the hype it was receiving but now I've realised that it completely deserves all the attention it's been getting.

I bought this brush at Superdrug for £10.99 which actually cheaper than at Boots so buy it there! For a start, the style of the brush is just gorgeous. The metal handle is a lovely orange/bronze colour and the end of the handle is rubber which was handy for me when standing my brush up. It's also pretty light so using it to do your make up is so easy!

One thing I love about the brush is the size. It's a big brush which is perfect for applying face powder. I sometimes find that some face brushes are too small or that the bristles are either too stiff or too flexible. I found that with this brush, the bristles are perfect! It picks up just the right amount of product! I found with my last powder brush that it would pick too much product up, leaving my face looking powdery and cakey and unfortunately thick when I actually had hardly any make up on. This brush picks up enough to get rid of your shine but no cakey-ness (I think I just made that word up.)

 So far, the none of the bristles have fallen out which shows that it is a great quality brush which is definitely worth the money. It's also unbelievably soft, I just want to keep touching it...aaah! So soft!

I also found that it gave a more professional finish and actually made me feel like a professional using it!

Beauty Bite: ELF's Eyelid Primer in 'Sheer'

 Now I've heard some wonderful things about this product so I just had to try it out! For someone like me who has oily eyelids and eyeshadow doesn't really like to stay very long, this is the kind of product I like! This Little tube of primer is a brilliant steal price at £1.50. You can't really leave something so great there for such an amazing and affordable price.

It comes with an easy brush/sponge applicator which is great for when you need to quickly do your make up. You only need a small amount of this product for it to work it's magic which is an even bigger bonus! It makes your eyeshadows appear brighter and more vibrant as well as making them last long. 

 You can buy this eyelid primer in 4 shades, so do not panic if the shade 'sheer' is not for you! You can also buy it in 'Champagne', 'Pearl' and 'Golden'. This product blends out beautifully and doesn't make your eyeshadow crease which is also a real problem for me with eyeshadows. It's also lightweight so doesn't feel heavy on your eyelids after a long day.

All in all, this is a budget friendly, eyelid loving primer (you'll probably love it too, not just your eyelids).
