Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in the shade '205 Elusive'

After a long search on Twitter and asking every #BBlogger available, I've finally got my hands on the perfect nude/pink balm. At £7.99 I was a little reluctant to try this but after seeing so many great reviews about this product and in particular this shade, I knew it was a must buy! Let's start of by saying how much I love the packaging! I love the matte texture and I like how the colour of the tube matches the actual colour, often some companies don't do well at matching them.
The shade Elusive is a dusty pink shade which is perfect for a natural or everyday look. It glides on smoothly and has a lovely creamy texture. I absolutely adore this colour and cannot get over how amazing it looks. It does slightly settle into lip lines but I can skip past that!!
It isn't entirely matte, it does have a slight sheen to it which I actually really like and looks great on the lips. It's unbelievably pigmented and with one quick swipe you have a good solid colour which is perfect for no hassle days or days when you're in a rush or late!
This product just doesn't budge which is something I definitely look for in a lip product as some tend to smudge, not a good look! This stays put exactly where you left it. It's perfect and I'm obsessed with it! This product doesn't claim to be a stain so don't expect it to stay put on your lips for too long, you probably will need a bit of a touch up here and there but for such a great product, I can put up with that! It has a slight minty smell and tingles on the lips when you first put it on which I wasn't too keen on but I'm sure I'll get used to it.
Overall this is an amazing product! I'm disappointed that I didn't pick this up earlier!!
I do wish that the price was a little cheaper but apart from that, I love it.
Give it a go!

Beauty Battle: Battle of the Concealers

If you're like me, you can't live without a concealer. Now I've spent a lot of money trying to find the best concealer to discover that actually the more affordable brands actually offer the best concealers.
So here is the second battle of the beauty products (See the first battle here)
It's the battle of the concealers!
MUA's Cover & Conceal versus Collection's Lasting Perfection Ultimate Wear Concealer
Let the battle begin!

Collection concealer
Pros:
  • Affordable (Usually £4.99)
  • Easy to apply with the doe foot applicator
  • Extremely good coverage
  • Easy to blend
  • Stays for a good amount of wear (Claims 16 hours)
  • Product lasts a long time (Get a lot of usage)
  • Great shade range for those with pale skin
Cons:

  • Can sometimes be drying
  • No shades for darker skin colours
  • The packaging is annoying as the writing rubs off
  • Can occasionally settle into fine lines

MUA Concealer
Pros:
  • Incredibly affordable at a wallet-friendly £1.50!
  • Not drying at all
  • Good wear
  • Nice consistency
  • Blends even easier than the Collection one

Cons:
  • Not many shades available (Even less than the Collection one)
  • Not as good a coverage
  • Can settle into fine lines
  • Packaging looks a little too cheap

The Final Verdict:
I think it's safe to say that both concealers have their pros and cons and overall they are both great beauty products. However for me, the Collection concealer has won this battle! The main aim of a concealer for me is to conceal! For me, the Collection one conceals better on my dark undereye circles however, the MUA one is brilliant for spots!

What's your verdict?
Let me know!
Give them a go

Recent Purchases #2 (Pic heavy)

So I've gradually been picking up little bits and pieces over the past few weeks so I thought I'd show you what I got!

This is when Body Shop had their sale on. I picked up this passion fruit scented body butter for a fiver! £5 is a bargain that I just couldn't leave there. Smells so gooooood.
Tesco recently had a little sale on too! I have a Tesco Extra where I live so they basically stock everything! There's an eye primer which is from the company "Along Came Betty". I'd never heard of it before, have any of you? Also Tesco's own brand F&F have a makeup selection which I ended up picking up the Galaxy Glow highlighter and the All About Nails nail varnish which were marked down to only 19p each!!
Below are the shades Purple Rain and Emerald (L to R)

Everyone has been talking about the Maybelline Colour Show nail varnishes so I've finally got my hands on some after the great reviews.
I have Green With Envy, Tutti Fruity, Sugar Crystals (L to R)

I was naughty and bought another Baby Lips. This one is Cherry Me. Again, smells amazing!

Fashion Finds of the Week!

So with some sales on at the moment in preparation for Spring, I've managed to scoop up a few little bargains! Here's what I got!
This gorgeous bright green bag was on sale at New Look for only £5! I buy almost all of my bags from New Look because they're gorgeous, great quality and last such a long time. This bag has an interesting way of staying closed as it has a magnetic clasp which you undo then there's a zip (Which you can see) so you have no problem in losing your stuff as it won't fall out! My favourite colour is green too so this was definitely a must buy for me.
In need of some new boots, I went on a trek to Primark with gift card in hand! I came across these lovely black ankle boots which were on sale for £10. Cannot argue with that.
Finally was this lovely little polka dot sheer top from New Look (I have a vest top underneath). It was on sale for only £6 and for a lover of polka dots, it was screaming at me to buy it. I wore this on an evening out to the theatre and it was unbelievably comfortable.

Have you bought anything new in the sales?!

My Firsts: Beauty Edition

Tagged by: http://www.dungarees-and-donuts.co.uk/

The first brand you found out about due to blogging?

It was proabably E.L.F! I'd never heard of the brand before I entered the world of blogging and I'm glad I did! I think because it was an online shop I hadn't heard of it! So glad you bloggers introduced me to such an affordable and great brand.

The first Youtube tutorial you watched and attempted?

It was probably either a Michelle Phan or a Tanya Burr video. I can't exactly remember but I'm sure it was a Valentine's day/natural look. Didn't turn out well.

The first high end item you bought?

I've never bought high end! No need when there are high street brands that do the same thing!

The first product you regret buying?

The Fashionista (MUA) Ready-To-Wear Luminous Foundation. It was on sale for £3 but it was awful! clinged to dry patches, streaky and no good colour match for my skin.

The first product you repurchased?

The Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse! I still use it to this day! I've never been one for liquid foudnations so light foundations like the Maybelline are perfect if you want a medium coverage.

The first product you reviewed on your blog? [

I think it was the MUA mosaic blush in English Rose! I still use the blush too. Amazing!

The first product you bought due to a blogger review?

Baby Lips! Everyone seemed to love them! I jumped on the bandwagon there.

Do you still use any of your first blogger make-up purchases?

Yep! My MUA powder and blush I still use to this day and the E.L.F. brushes!

If you want to have a go, do it yourself! Just send the link of your post :)
