Beauty Bite: Brand Focus: Vaseline!

So sorry for the short absence, my laptop hasn't been entirely successful in connecting to my wifi (Sadface) But it's okay, I'm back! Today I've decided to show you my top Vaseline products since I just love the brand!

Vaseline's aloe vera moisturiser: Here's my favourite body moisturiser. I know you can get it in other scents e.g. cocoa or shea butter I think? But my favourite by far is the aloe vera one! It smells lovely, it completely moisturises rather than just sitting on top of your skin. It really sinks in. It's not greasy or too thick either. I got this on offer for £2, but the original price isn't far off that.
Original Vaseline: I bought a whole tub of this since I went through so many of the small tins and the small tubs. This is the largest tub I've found of it so far. I think this product is pretty self explanatory! But I will say I prefer it to cheaper versions as it doesn't have such a horrible taste.
You don't know how many of these tins I've gone through. They are a permanent product in my bag! My favourites are the aloe vera and the rosy lips. I use the aloe vera when my lips are in desperate need of moisturising and I use the rosy lips when I need to stop my lips from being dry but still wanting a hint of colour.
And finally vaseline's lip balm lip therapy stick in cocoa butter. I love the smell of this, it's gorgeous! I've even had people ask me what I'm using since they love the smell so much (The same with the tin version of the cocoa butter Vaseline). It's not the best for moisturising but I'm addicted to the smell!

Give them a try!

Beauty Bite: Liebster Award Take 2!

So I've done the Liebster award before but the questions are always different and you can also interact with new people when you do this so I decided to do it again...for the second time! It may even be better than the first ;)
I was nominated by the lovely Kymyatta from http://beautytalkwithkymmy.blogspot.co.uk/
You should all know the rules by now!
Say who nominated you, answer their 11 questions, ask 11 questions of your own and nominate 11 people with less than 200 followers :)

So let's crack on...
Here are Kymyatta's questions!

1). What's your favourite item in your wardrobe?
It depends on the weather! But my favourite of all time has to be a knitted jumper from New Look I have. It's loosely knitted, cream coloured and has a heart shape in the middle. Was a bargain at £10!

2). Favourite makeup brand and why?
Easy answer! MUA! Makeup Academy is affordable, reliable and just overall fantastic! Brilliant stuff!

3). Would you rather only wear your hair in a ponytail or a messy bun?
Ponytail! I have that kind of hair that is always straight, so making messy buns is actually a struggle for me :( I end up making look like a bird's nest...not nice!

4). What beauty skill do you wish you were better at?
Applying liquid eyeliner! I'm awful! That takes skill! Haha!

5). How long have you been blogging?
About a month! I started in July :)

6). What is your favourite candy?
Skittles! :)

 7). Lipstick or Lipgloss?
Lipstick. I never really feel comfortable wearing lipgloss. Plus, the weather here is like always windy so lipstick is the way forward as your hair doesn't end up being permanently stuck to your face!

8). Beauty product that you can't live without?
That's trickyyy! Um probably a pressed powder because I get incredibly oily and shiny on my T-Zone! So either MUA's pressed powder or Collection (2000) pressed powder.

9). If you had 1000 dollars to spend would you spend it on clothes or makeup?
Probably clothes. A girl can never have enough clothes! Makeup goes out of date but clothes don't!

10). Would you rather wear winter clothes in the summer or summer clothes in the winter?
I'd choose summer clothes in winter because I hate being hot! I don't really like summer weather either! I much prefer Winter...so summer clothes in winter! :)

11). What is one of your pet peeves?
In relation to makeup, one of my pet peeves is when someone's foundation is either too dark or too light for their face and you can tell the difference in colour between their face and neck. Not a good look!
In general, I hate it when people interrupt me when I talk or when people ignore me. (I know you asked for one, but there's 3 haha)
Thanks again to Kymyatta for the nomination! :)

Here's my 11 questions:
1. What's your favourite film quote?
2. What's your top makeup tip?
3.If you were a type of animal, what would you be and why?
4. What are your top 3 products that you use on a daily basis?
5. If you could be anyone else for a day, who would it be and why?
6. What's the most disappointing product you've used?
7. Heels or flats?
8. City life or the countryside?
9. Your favourite toy as a child?
10. Your favourite song?
11. What cheers you up when you're feeling down?

I nominate these bloggers:
Send me your link when you're done!
Give it a go! :)

Step 4: Create white dots around the yellow dot to create petals, do as many of these as you like

Beauty Bite: MUA's Undress Me Too Palette

Hey all!
As you can see, Today I'll share my thoughts on MUA's Undress Me Too Palette.
It consists of natural shades, some pearl and some matte.
This is £4 in the shop but when I purchased it in Superdrug a while ago, for some reason it was marked down to £3 (Talk about a bargain steal right?!)
So I was pretty excited about this palette, the pigmentation of these eyeshadows is beautiful! Such a great colour payoff! When I swatched them, they had a slight creamy texture to them but they're a powder. They're pretty easy to blend, making easy to create a nice smokey eye. They're also buildable so you can have a soft colour on your lid or you can build it up to a stronger and darker colour.
This palette also comes with a sponge applicator.
I absolutely adore the colours, such nice neutral shades and lovely shimmery pearl shades.
Here are the shades and their names, starting with the first 6 on the left:
And the 6 on the right:
But here's my problem. I just can't seem to work with them! They get really messy, often I have fallout either under my eyes or on the corners of my eyes, making me look like I have black eyes or that I've just been attacked by a makeup brush. To be honest, I was pretty let down! You all know how much of a massive MUA fan I am and this is disappointing! I was unsure about it as I've seen it on many favourites lists and many disappointing products lists! At the moment, I'm in the middle, swaying towards the disappointing side. I really want to like this product but it just doesn't seem to work right for me! It just seems too chalky and too much fall out! Too hard to work with for me. For the people that like it, I can completely see why! It actually has quite nice packaging too, perfect for travelling or having as a handbag palette. Also, the value for money is amazing!

As I said, I really want to like it, but I just can't! BUT I don't hate it! Maybe I should give it another try? Can someone help me change my mind?! If you have a review of this product or a makeup tutorial look with this product send it my way! Leave it in the comment box, email me at Rachelsbeautybites@gmail.com or tweet me @Rachbeautybites!
Help me out guys!

Give it a go, it might work for you!

Beauty Bite: Skincare Product of the Week: Dove Hand Cream

So here's this week's skincare product of the week, Dove's Regenerating Nourishment Hand Cream! My hands tend to get seriously dry extremely quickly so I need a quick repair for my skin! Some people neglect the skin on their hands and forget to take care of it like other parts of their body. I think the skin on your hands is just as important. Like Dove says, this cream keeps your hands beautiful today and tomorrow.

This little wonder can be used in the day but is designed to work at night! (So no excuses that you have no time to apply during the day). It works by improving the skin 'deep down' and it also claims to work for 24 hours (I'm not entirely sure about that, I'll have to keep testing it).

But this is amazing stuff! I've always hated the thick hand creams that feel like you're smearing butter on your hands leaving a greasy feeling that simply is just uncomfortable. This hand cream from Dove is NOTHING like that which was great as I find most hand creams have that texture now. It smells nice, sort of has that Dove 'signature smell' if you know what I mean. It repairs the dry and cracked skin on my hands so quickly! I got this on sale at Superdrug for about £1.39 I think?

My favourite hand cream so far!
Give it a go! Make every part of your body beautiful! :)

Beauty Bite: Pig Nail Art

Here's another nail art tutorial for you and this time it's farm animal related...It's pig nail art!
Want to have cute piggies on your nails? Look no further!

Step 1: Apply a basecoat or clear coat to protect your nails and prevent the nail polish from staining your nail
Step 2: Using the brush of your lightest pink shade, sweep it across 2/3 of your nail having a slightly round shape. This will be the head
Step 3: Then using a darker pink, do the same as step 2 but slightly smaller so it only covers the first 1/3 of your nail (The tip) After that, using a dotting tool (Or something to create this shape) take the same darker pink nail polish and create triangles for the ears.
Step 4: Using an even darker pink/purple, use the dotting tool to create to dots at the end of your nail for nostrils.
Step 5: Create black dots for the eyes and add a top coat!
Here are the nail polishes I used to create this nail art design:
Rimmel London's 60 Seconds in shade 740 'Clear'
Collection (2000) Hot Looks Fast Dry in shade 48 'Candy Floss'
Miss Sporty's Clubbing Colours Quick Dry
Claire's Cosmetics Chip Resistant Nail Polish (Pink and Black, no shade name)

Beauty Bite: Cloud Nail Art

I decided to try something a little different today, here's a quick and easy nail art tutorial in picture form for you! I decided to show you how to get a cloud design on your nails.

Step 1: Apply a basecoat (This protects your nails/stops the nail polish from staining them)
Step 2: Paint your nails a layer of blue nail polish
Step 3: Using a dotting tool*, create cloud-like shapes by layering dots of white nail polish
Step 4: Add a top coat!

*If you don't own a dotting tool, you could use a toothpick, the end of a makeup brush, a cotton bud, the end of a pencil or the end of a pin that has the ball at the end.

Here are the nail polishes I used to create this nail art design:
Asda George's white manicure
Collection's (2000) Hot Looks Fast Dry in Shade 32 BMX Bandit
Rimmel London's 60 Seconds in shade 740 clear
Give it a go!

Beauty Bite: Beauty Product of the Week- Collection's Big Fake Ultimate False Lash Effect Mascara

Today is my beauty product of the week! :) It's Collection's Big Fake Ultimate False Lash Effect Mascara. This awesome mascara costs only £5.99!

It definitely makes your lashes appear longer and it doesn't clump which is always a plus with mascaras. It has a massive brush! (An ultimate one) Which can have it's advantages and disadvantages! I find I often get mascara on my cheek or undereye area when applying because it's so big, but this may just be me being my clumsy usual self!

Unfortnately though it does smudge quite a bit, so if you're an eye-rubber like me, this may not be the best thing to use...or maybe just avoid touching your eye area all together when wearing this!

Overall this is a good mascara that separates your lashes to amke them appear fuller, it makes them look longer and it doesn't clump. But it does smudge so beware!

I think for £5.99, give it a go!
