Aviva Dress*

I don't know if you've heard...but there's this dress website that I have just fallen in love with!! Aviva Dress have an easy website to use which allows you to browse through in awe at the ginormous amount of stunning dresses. I really am blown away with the classiness, variety and prices of these dresses. Let's take a peek at some of my favourites.
Now I know that prom is agesss away but there's no harm in getting in there early is there? Especially at these incredible prices for such gorgeous gowns! As you can see, I've chosen a range of dressees to suit different styles: from short prom dresses, to sexy Hollywood glam long prom dresses and the popular choice of...the Disney princess gown. Not only are they in different designs and lengths, but they have an amazing range of colours. There is bound to be a colour perfect for you on this website...in fact I found so many for me.

In all honesty, I wish that this was around at the time I bought my prom dress because these all look so unbelievably original and will definitely have everyone asking where you got your prom dress from!
Not only do Aviva Dress do prom dresses, but they sell wedding dresses perfect for any type of bride! I spent hours browsing through this section as they were all so beautiful and breath-taking; not only for the design but also for the price! With the sale on at the moment, these dresses were £99! Where else are you going to find a wedding dress for that price, quality and style? I literally wanted to buy every single dress. If you're a future bride, go take a look at these dresses because you will honestly be blown away.

Here are some of my top picks! So one of my particular favourites was the vintage lace style wedding dress, everyone loves a bit of lace...right? Next was my pick for a more glamorous bride by which I mean someone who prefers a bit more glitz and glam with the jewels. I particularly love the halter-neck on this dress which gives it a bit of originality.

My last pick is one for the Kate Middleton style dress. This dress is a plus size dress which I think gives Aviva Dress another gold star. Not only has it catered to all women, but all shapes, sizes and still has the ability to make all of them look beautiful. Also, they sell accessories such as veils as well as mother of the bride dresses and flower girl dresses - what could be more perfect? All in one place! No matter what kind of bride you'll be, there's a dress here to suit you.
Not getting married or going to prom but in need of a stunning evening dress? Well guess what? Aviva Dress do that too! From evening dresses, to cocktail dresses to formal dresses, no doubt that what you need is catered for. Here's another section of the website that I spent hours looking at (and even had my Mum staring at too!). We were both in shock at how beautiful these dresses were without breaking the bank. I remember saying "I feel like that should be worn on a red carpet" because the dresses looked that amazing.

Here are my top picks for the evening gowns: The 'classic glamour' look was one that caught my eye as it really did look like Lana Del Rey but also the dress seemed to fit in all the right place and give that effortless look to it. Again another lace number was thrown in the mix as well as the peach coloured dainty, long dress which really got my attention. The neckline was something I'd never really seen before and the colour is so refreshing. This is definitely saved in my favourites!

So Aviva Dress is a must. Any dress, any occasion, any colour, any size, any style. There is bound to be something that catches your eye! I wanted to get everything!

Did I mention... there's a sale on?!
Go grab some bargains!

The Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Clearing Lotion

I'm just going to jump right in with this one. So this little pocket-sized lotion is meant to clear blemishes and clear your skin. However, I cannot explicitly say that it did that...for my skin. I liked that it had oil in it which worked great as a lotion after my moisturiser in order to combat my dry skin but in all honesty, I saw no change in my blemishes or bumpy skin.
However, it does have a lovely light-weight consistency and absorbed within seconds of applying it which is always great - no one likes lotions that sit on top of the skin!
I think overall that this is one of those products that will work for some and won't work for others. Lots of people have have the pleasure of this product working wonders on their skin however, after using it all up, I can say that I really haven't seen any difference in my skin.

Did this work for you? Let me know in the comments!

The Body Shop Facial Massager

I was rather skeptical of these after everyone raved about them, saying that they cleared their lumps and bumps on their skin that were not exactly spots. For £6, I refused to buy it. But after the Body Shop sale, I decided to buy one to see what all the fuss is about.

So I tried using this either before or after moisturising, haven't fully decided which I prefer yet in terms of order. Turns out, that it is worth the hype. It feels so nice on the skin, I particularly prefer it on my jawline. Plus, it does get rid of unwanted lumps and bumps, especially on the forehead. By increasing bloodflow to the surface of the skin, it gives you a healthy natural glow. It apparently clears and decreases toxins...bonus!

What do you think of this tool? A nifty bit of beauty equipment or a waste of money?

L'Oreal Paris Studio Line Hot & Smooth Hot Straight Cream

Are you suffering from frizzy hair like me? No matter what time of the year I suffer from frizz, mainly from the baby hairs. In the Spring/Summer, my hair does a Monica from F.R.I.E.N.D.S and turns into an uncontrollable afro and in the Winter, the cold and rain just seems to fluff it up. Sometimes I just want a sleek, straight hairstyle with little volume. So what do I do? I pick up L'Oreal's Studio Line Hot & Smooth Hot Straight Cream. Sounds like it'll do the job right?
As you can see from the above picture, the bottle instructs you step-by-step on how to use it. It's a cream but slightly runnier than I expected. It smells really nice, not a particular scent like a fruit etc, but a nice refreshing, clean smell.

So I use this product predominantly before I dry my hair with the hair dryer because that's really the only time that it comes into contact with head. It doesn't tell you how much to use but I use about a small blob of it and run it through my hair root to tip but focusing on the tips. So after running it through my hair, I hadn't even dried it and I loved it already. My hair already felt smooth and nourished. After a little while with the hair dryer, I took a look at my hair a was amazed to see hardly any frizz! I then went to bed and woke up with amazingly sleek hair. This has been a God-send from the beauty world and has done wonders for my hair!

If you suffer from frizz or uncontrollable hair, give L'Oreal's Hot Straight Cream a try...it worked for me!

The Body Shop Mango Body Mist

The Body Shop had a major sale recently so I jumped at the chance to try one of their body mists. Instead of going for the usual coconut like everyone tries, I opted for the mango scent.
This has to be one the most refreshing, sweet scent I've ever smelled. I think it's absolutely incredible! It's great for one of those days where you don't want to wear perfume and you just want a quick spritz of something before you dash out of the door. If you love fruity, sweet smells, then this is perfect for you! It longevity is amazing  which is perfect for long days. I've been told on numerous occasions that I smelled nice, in which I proceeded to tell them it was this product!
The packaging is adorable and actually makes it feel and look as though the product is worth far more than it actually is. This is a great scent to use for the spring/summer time or to even bright up your winter!

This is by far one of my favourite Body Shop products...EVER.
I absolutely adore it!
Have you used a Body Shop Body mist before? What scent!
Let me know what you've gotten from The Body Shop below!

Primark Jewellery

Here are some pieces of jewellery and accessories currently stocked at Primark which I think are affordable and perfect to wear with so many choices of outfits!
First is this cute little handbag mirror for only £1! It comes in a variety of designs, but this one was my favourite and caught my eye! It's a sturdy mirror, so no need to worry about it being broken.

Next is this sparkly gem! It's a gold curved necklace with sliver glitter in the middle which I think is perfect for wearing with plain black jumpers (I bought a black jumper at Primark for £5 and they go perfectly together!). It could go with so many items of clothing, so for £3, it's worth purchasing.

Next is my favouriteeee of them all! This cute, colourful, floral statement necklace is perfect for plain tops and shirts but also great to pair with a patterned top with one of these many colours in! I love to wear this top with my Primark blue striped tee. I bought this for £4, which I just couldn't say no to. Such a gorgeous design!

This necklace cost me £3 and is great again, with basically anything. That statement silver metal goes with any colour, pattern or style. I love that it doesn't have a chain all around and instead it's a strip of metal which makes it look so much more classy and expensive.
Finally is this metal hair clip which was £2! Such a brilliant price for something that looks far more expensive. I've had a few compliments on this and when I told them it was Primark, they were in total shock! It works brilliantly and looks lovely in your hair!

So those are my top buys from Primark in the jewellery and accessories section, what have you bought from there recently that you're loving? Let me know!

DIY citrus sugar scrub!

So you're fed up of paying out tons of money for a body scrub or exfoliator and want to make your own. Where do you start? Right here with my step-by-step for making a citrus sugar scrub.

You will need:

  • Granulated sugar
  • Olive oil
  • Lemon juice
  • Orange
  • Container

First measure out 2-3 cups of sugar. You choose how much of this you wish to make. I started off with 3 cups which eventually made half of my glass jar.
Add half a cup of olive oil...
  ...and mix!
Add 2 Tablespoons of lemon juice.
Zest or grate your orange into the mixture in the bowl.
Squeeze the orange so all the juice comes out and mix it into the bowl. At this point, the mixture should be quite runny like  in the picture. Don't panic, we can change the consistency with the next step!
Add some more sugar to get it to the consistency that you would like your sugar scrub to be. I made mine quite thick.
Transfer the scrub into a jar. I chose a glass air tight container from the 99p store!

And there you have it! Simple and cheap!
I hope this sugar scrub works well for you all.
Let me know what you think

Soap & Glory's Flake Away Body Scrub

I've heard nothing but good things about Soap & Glory's bath and shower products so I had to give one a try. I love exfoliating products so their body scrubs just called to me! After having a browse through Boots, I realised they had a 3 for 2 offer on the Soap & Glory products, I leaped at the chance to pick some up. Here's 2 of the 3 I picked up which are 2 of the Flake Away body scrubs.
For a start, we'll begin with the packaging. I love the quirky, vintage packaging that S&G have designed. The pink stands out and makes you instantly realise that it's the S&G brand. In all honestly, they do look pretty on your shelf as well!

The smell of this product is gorgeous. Having an almondy smell crossed with sugar makes you want to keep scrubbing it on in the shower!
The grains aren't too rough but are harsh enough to get rid of that excess dry skin and in-grown hairs. It also is great for you tanners who need to get rid of that fake tan! It contains Shea butter which exfoliates your skin but leaving it moisturised - like a 2 in 1 product! I think this product is perfect for those who suffer from psoriasis or eczema or have irritated dry skin. This product is great for the skin and is a reasonable price (especially with the offer on at Boots!)

Have you tried Flake Away?
Let me know what you think!

The Great British Beach Clean! #GBBC

September has arrived but are we really ready to say goodbye to summer just yet? With the gorgeous sunshine still blazing down on us, I think it’s safe to say that really…summer isn’t officially over. What’s the first thing you associate with summer sunshine? Beaches.

Now being the proud Cornish girl that I am, I love the beaches that we have here in Cornwall. However, there are also many other beautiful beaches sprawled across our British coast in need of some TLC.

The summer months are the best times to visit the beaches, however, unfortunately it can lead to a large amount of litter and rubbish being scattered across the sand and sadly going into our waters. Luckily starting this September, the multi award winning holiday parks Parkdean are on a mission to clean up our British beaches with the help of their friends at the Marine Conservation Society and hopefully…YOU!

From the 19th to the 22nd of September, Parkdean are hosting 15 beach cleans in total and supporting the events of a further 6, so wherever you are there’s a beach ready for your help! No matter whether you are in Wales, Scotland or England, there’s a place for your volunteering skills to be put to good use.

Here are the beach cleans and the dates and times you need to know.

Signing up is incredibly simple. Just click here, fill out the necessary information and away you go!

No need to worry about equipment as all will be provided by Parkdean! Just wear sensible clothing, slap on some sun cream and grab your hat ready for some beach fun. (There might even be some refreshments for you to tuck into as well!)

Our aim is to make Britain’s beaches cleaner, not only for just marine wildlife but also your children and families. Bring everyone and anyone you know to these big events, we’re in need of your help! Friends, family, work colleagues and neighbours can all join you on this great day out on the beach!  Let’s make our beaches clean again with the Great British Beach Clean! #GBBC

(Please make sure under 18s are accompanied by an adult. You can find the parental consent form here )

If you wish to find out more about the Marine Conservation Society you can find them here
Want to check out Parkdeans? You can find their website right here

Hopefully, we’ll meet on the beach!

Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in the shade '080 Strawberry Shortcake'

So yes, I caved in and bought a Revlon lip butter. Everyone raved about them and in all honesty, I was pretty skeptical about these. They appeared to be glorified lip balms but boy was I wrong.
Originally these retail at £7.99 but luckily not long ago, Boots had a reduction on particular items and the Revlon Lip Butters were being sold for £5.99 (bargain!) So I frantically searched for swatches of the shades in an attempt to find one that I felt I would wear often since I was paying nearly 6 pounds for one. I stumbled across Strawberry Shortcake which I can now say has become one of my favourite makeup products of all time.
The colour is gorgeous (as you can see below) and has a soft, light pink look on the lips which is perfect for everyday wear. It felt sort of sticky at first, but once worn down a bit it's the right consistency and you become accustomed to the texture. I can easily throw this on without looking in the mirror which is perfect for those in a rush days or even days when you are wearing no makeup to bring a bit of colour to your face. It's surprisingly incredibly moisturising and great for everyday use. All in all, I am fully converted to the Revlon Lip Butter.
What's your opinion on this lip product? Let me know in the comments :)

Velvotan "The Original Tanning Mitt" (Self tanning accessories)*

So Summer is here and pasty, ghostly white girls like myself are in dire need of some fake tan. However there's always the hassle of applying the stuff! Luckily Velvotan are the brand who have saved the day from beauty tanning disaster. This affordable brand has created a line of self tanning accessories to aid you in applying your fake tan...on every part of your body! You can easily find a mitt to use but Velvotan have gone that step or even steps further to ensure that your entire body is evenly coated in your favourite fake tan for summer!

Here is one of the most adorable products I have ever seen. It's a mini mitt to use to fake tan your face! This cute little mitt allows you to tan your face evenly so you don't have that Casper the ghost look on your face and your body beautifully tanned! I think this is a great mitt as I've never seen someone utilise this idea. The top is fabric and the bottom is a thin foam sponge so that you get a soft touch when applying your tan. As you can see, it easily slips onto your finger ready to be used.

This next one is probably the tanning accessory you've all seen and used before. This body mitt is essentially a bigger version of the face mitt. The Daddy of mitts! This has the same properties and qualities as the face mitt but larger. Left my fake tan evenly coated and wasn't scratchy.

This is the body polishing sponge helps to prepare your skin to remove all the dry skin and patches that may leave you with an uneven distribution of tan. No one likes a patchy tan! It sort of works like an exfoliator to scrub away any dead skin cells in order to get a natural looking tan. They advise you to use this daily in the shower and I have to say, I adore this! I love exfoliating products and anything that leaves my skin feeling smooth-this definitely does the job!!

This is the last product/accessory but an interesting one! This is the back applicator! Again, I thought this was genius, something I would have never thought of. It looks similar (dare I say it) to a back scratcher but with foam pads on the end for you to apply your tan. It folds in the centre so you are able to shape the product in a way which makes applying fake tan the easiest for you.

Overall, i think all of these products are innovative, creative and effective in making fake tan application the most efficient and easiest thing to do!
