Beauty Bite: MUA's Kiss Proof Lip Stain

Hi all!
If you've seen my recent MUA haul, you'll know I purchased this Kiss Proof lip stain in the shade 'Fabulicious' and here's my review for it! If you haven't seen my MUA haul blog post, CLICK HERE!!
Plus, there's only a few days left of their half price sale, so go go go!

Now I've had my eye on this for a very long time, not just the MUA one but any lip stain pen in general and I was in two minds about getting one. So when this was on sale from £3 to £1.50 I just had to give it a go! I purchased the most 'pink' shade of them all (There are 3 shades so far).

I'm quite impressed with the size of it, it's a decent size worth you money for a start. The smell of the product was something I was most worried about but actually it has a pleasant sweet, fruity type smell to it that I was relieved and happy that it had.

I moisturised my lips prior to applying this to make sure it didn't stick to any dry skin! I would say if you do use it, don't use it on chapped or dry/flaky skin because it will cling to it and draw attention to it.

It took a while to get an even coverage but it's buildable! Which is lovely because if you made a mistake, it won't be too noticable. The colour is slightly darker than the colour of the packaging but is a really nice natutal looking pink lip colour.

It lasts for a good few hours, didn't smudge and didn't bleed.

For this price, you can't say no to such a great product! Will I repurchase and will I buy in other shades? YES!
If you want a hint of colour to your lips rather than a bold colour, try it!
Give it a go!

Beauty Bite: Skincare Product of the Week

I've decided to do a new type of post on my blog, I'll feature different products to be 'Product of the Week'. Here is my skincare product of the week!
This is the T-Zone Blackhead Fighting Facial Scrub. This cleanses your skin beautifully and leaves it feeling extremely soft. It uses beads to help clean your pores out to help prevent blackheads. It also contains tea tree which is one of my favourite things to be used in a product. It doesn't leav your skin feeling dry or leaves it flaky. It's so good! You can find this rather cheaply, the cheapest I found it at was 89p!

Give it a go!

Beauty Bite: MUA Haul

So I took advantage of MUA's half price sale and you should all know by now, I'm a massive MUA fan. I ended up buying quite a few products that were at an extremely good price and here they are!

Here are they eye products I bought. I purchased one of their single eyeshadows in shade 1 which is a pearl eyeshadow and it cost £1. I also bought their extreme felt eyeliner in the shade black which cost £2.
Here's my full review on their single eyeshadow:
I purchased one of their £1 lipsticks in shade 3 which is a sort of pinky red/ raspberry colour. I also bought another Fashionista Double Take Long-Wear lipstick in shade 4 which is 'Raspberry'. If you'd like to see a review of the Fashionista lipstick, I have done a previous one of the shades 'baby doll pink' and 'natural pink' here!

I also bought something I've had my eye on for a very longggg time! This is one of their Kiss Proof lip stains. They are originally £3 but they were marked down to £1.50! I purchased this one in the shade 'Fabulicious'.

Now on to the face products!
I bought the MUA Matte Foundation in shade 1 which is 'Soft Sand'. This was previously £2 marked down to £1! I ordered the Fashionista Ready-To-Wear Luminous Foundation in Shade 1 'Nude'. (Originally £12 on sale for £3! Bargain!) And finally my first ever BB cream! MUA's All in One Beauty Balm in the lightest shade, shade 1 'Light'.

The MUA half price sale is still on! Go ahead and purchase your goods now!
If you've used these products, desperately want me to review one, or have a review of any of these yourself, comment below or tweet me! Would love to hear from you :)

Beauty Bite: Disappointing Product- Avon's Colour Style Lipstick in the Shade Pink Kiss

Before I start, here's what Avon have to say:
"Rich and creamy moisturising lipstick in gorgeous stay-true shades."
This really wasn't I expected it to be. You've let me down Avon! :(
This is their Colour Style Lipstick in the shade 'Pink Kiss' and it's price is currently on sale at £2.99. You'd expect to be a lovely pink colour. In fact, I expected it to be a pink satin finish, a sort of glossy shimmery look to it. I could not be more wrong! It comes out a frosty pink colour that I really did not like! If you can see from the picture, it's extremely tiny, it was about the size of my thumb...possibly smaller. Also it's not all that pigmented. It's rather sheer and doesn't appear that great!
Here's a swatch of it...if you can see!
I will admit, it is creamy and quite nice to apply but to be honest when you apply it, the colour doesn't appear that nice.
Also, My lipstick bent when I applied it leaving dents in it and it eventually broke after 2 uses.
I hate to say it, but I really don't like this product! For the price I payed, I expected it to be bigger and I expected the colour to appear different. Not at all what I wanted. Disappointed!
However, this is just my experience with this product, it doesn't mean you won't like it!
If you've given it a go or want to try it, let me know how it works for you :)

Beauty Bite: My Handbag Must-Haves all under £5!

Beauty Bite: My Handbag Must-Haves all under £5!
Here are my essential products that I carry around in my bag all the time!

So these are anti-bacterial wipes, intended for kids but hey, I'm a big kid haha. These are perfect for a quick way of washing your hands and removing dirt so when you're in need and have mucky hands with no water around, these are handy! (Get it?)

Now these are one of my bargain finds! At home bargains (Where you find bargains) I found these tissues for only 12p! They're useful, small enough to keep in your bag and have such cute packaging!

This is one of the most important things in my bag. I adore Vaseline! Especially this aloe vera one and the rosy lips one but the rosy one was battered and didn't look too good in the photo, but it's definately a favourite!
These I found at my local 99p store for (you guessed it) 99p. You get 2 hand sanitisers for 99p and I chose these ones in the scent of lime and coriander. They definately leave your hand feeling clean and fresh but still keeping the moisture in! Another good way of cleaning your hands!

A mirror for those days when you need a bit of a touch up! This one came with a powder brush at the 99p store but the brush wasn't too nice so we'll stick with the mirror!

If you have an oily T-Zone like me, then you'll have to keep touching up your powder. I've chosen my MUA pressed powder for £1. Here's my review of it: http://rachelsbeautybites.blogspot.co.uk/2013/07/beauty-bite-makeup-academy-mua-pressed.html

Body spray is always a must for me! Here's one of my favourites from So...? which is an amazing brand! Love them all! This one is So...? Sinful.

Concealer, for those days when your bags are looking bad, you're having a bad skin day or generally just need a touch up. Now I have to favourites! I have the Collection (2000) Lasting perfection Ultimate Wear Concealer in Light 1 and Light 2 and also MUA's Cover and Conceal.

I tend not to keep lipsticks in my bag unless I'm wearing one that day as I tend to get dry lips and lipstick and dry lips don't go too well together! So I use MUA's Power Pout in the shade 'Brokenhearted' which is great as it gives such a good bright colour but also moisturises your lips!

What are your handbag must-haves?!

Beauty Bite: MUA's Intense Kisses High Intensity Gloss

Beauty Bite: MUA's Intense Kisses High Intensity Gloss

I'm not one for lipglosses, I'm more of a lip balm or lip tint kinda girl. Sometimes I like a bit of lipstick, but I tend to stay clear of lipglosses because they often have that sticky texture that as soon as I put it on, I just want to wipe it off straight away! But for some odd reason, I felt as though I needed to try one of these and for £2, if I didn't like it, I couldn't really complain.

This has to be the first lipgloss I've ever used that doesn't have that awful sticky texture which I couldn't be more happy about! The colour selection is amazing with such great shades to choose from. Also, when it calls it 'intense' and 'high intensity' it genuinely means it. Often the colour in the tube isn't the colour that it turns out on your lips, but this is true to the colour! I was actually amazed at how beautiful this came out!

The packaging is another great thing about this gloss. It's square and not your usual round shape which makes it a little different from the rest. The lid is really secure which is something I always look for in beauty products because I get worried they'll leak or explode in my makeup bag...but not this little bargain! It also has a cute glittery kiss at the top of the lid which I love.

I found that this glides on nicely and doesn't pull at your lips like most lipglosses do, however these don't always give an even application. They can come out kind of streaky of where you've applied it onto your lips so it takes a while to sort it out. But they do last quite a long time for a lipgloss, I found this one in the shade 'Lips Are Sealed' lasted for about 3 hours. Another plus is that when you remove the lipgloss, it gives a nice stain to your lips which adds colour. It doesn't dry out your lips and it's actually slightly moisturising!

I say give it a go!
Wish I bought more shades...
Let me know if you like these lipsglosses and if there are any other good ones out there!

Beauty Bite: Vivo's Single Eyeshadows, Eyeshadow Trio and Baked Blush!

Beauty Bite: Vivo's Single Eyeshadows, Eyeshadow Trio and Baked Blush! (Lots of pictures)

Now this I'm excited for! Today I'm reviewing some makeup from the brand 'Vivo' which is exclusive to Tesco. I purchased a baked blush, 4 pearl eyeshadows, 1 matte eyeshadow and an eyeshadow trio. I decided to do this since I've noticed not many people have given these the attention they deserve, so here it is!

Let's begin with the single eyeshadows...
Here's what Vivo have to say! (They say A LOT)
"Single eyeshadows that pack a pigmented punch to your lids!
Bargain price of only £1.50 you wont be disappointed with the performance or the choice of shade, so go on... add one (or two or three!) to your basket now! We’re a little bit smug of our Eyeshadow range. Why are we so smug you ask? Well not only is it full of pigment - the fact they only cost £1.50 each is a pretty good start! But the deal clincher for us at VIVO HQ is how insanely beautiful they are. The Pearl eyeshadows come in 10 shades from bright greens and purples to soft browns and intense blacks. They’re such a fantastic size for the price you pay and will last you ages! Why not try sweeping Goddess all over the lid, Mink through the crease and Espresso in the outer corner for a soft smokey eye? It’s a foolproof £4.50 (3 x £1.50 eyeshadows!) look that you’ll want to rock as soon as you roll out of bed in the morning."

Before we begin, these are slightly older eyeshadows so they have a different packaging, I believe the packaging is now square but they still have the same shades (I checked).
For a start, the colours are just beautiful! Some are subtle like the more brown and gold shades and some are more striking and bolder such as the greens and blues. (I nearly purchased the purple but I resisted). The texture of the shadows is quite nice, slightly creamy but still powdery which makes them easily blendable and less messy. (You know how I hate overly powdery and messy products). When I purchased these they were only £1 but sadly they've risen to £1.50. But don't fret! Online they've been put on sale for only 75p! Such a bargain steal! However, they do tend to fall and end up on your cheeks or under eye area a bit so be careful and they may need touching up every now and then! Another great thing about these is that they are incredibly pigmented! I was shocked at how amazing the colour pay off was for a product so cheap!

Now on to the eyeshadow trio!

Now this one I'm not so sure on!This is a trio eyeshadow palette in the shade 'Sugar Plum' which is a range of purple/pink colours. The colour in the middle is beautifully pigmented like the single eyeshadows but the pink isn't that noticable, probably best off using as a highlighter or a shimmer. The darker colour on the end is also good but comes out a little darker than I expected. They have the same consistency as the single eyeshadows with all the same pros (and the one con). It also comes with a handy sponge applicator for those who don't use brushes, but personally I'm not a fan of sponge applicators as they tend to soak up a lot of the product and the texture isn't all that nice!

Finally the blush!

Before this, I'd never used a baked blush before, so I wasn't too sure what to expect! I chose this in the shade 'Rosy' which is shade 2 but they have a small range of colours to choose from. I bought this at the price of £4 which for the amount you get and the amazing pigmentation, is completely worth it! But because it's so pigmented, try not to apply too much or be heavy handed, this is a strong colour! It has a light shimmer to it, so no need for a highlighter either!
Overall, Vivo is definately an afforable and good quality brand worth checking out!
Give it go!

Beauty Bite: ELF's All Over Cover Stick in the Shade Ivory

Beauty Bite: ELF's All Over Cover Stick in the Shade Ivory

Now here's a product that immediately caught my eye online! So much that I bought 2! This is something I've been trying for a while now, but to be honest, I'm not all that keen on it. It's the ELF All Over Cover Stick in the shade 'Ivory'. I will admit the price of it is pretty good as it's only £1.50 because it's from their original line. But was it worth buying? I'm not entirely sure yet.

It might be due to the shade I picked as I thought that the shade Ivory would be a lighter white/cream sort of shade like it appeared online. However as you can see, it comes out a lot more yellow than expected. At first I thought that it being yellow, it would work well to cancel out my dark circles under my eyes. It did that actually and had quite good coverage, but it just appeared yellow/orange under my eyes and looked as if I had bruising...not quite the look I was going for!
The packaging is quite cute, it's small and easy to put in your bag as it doesn't take up much room, but it was a lot smaller than I expected! The consistency of it isn't actually that nice. It's kind of sticky and greasy which makes it really hard to apply and blend out. It also tends to crease and clings to dry skin and settles in fine lines. Plus, it can be quite drying itself and if you apply too much, can look cakey. However, the smell of the product is quite pleasant, sort of a citrus/orange smell which isn't too bad. It also didn't make me break out which is always a plus!

Overall, I think for the price you pay for it, it's an okay product but I wouldn't say it's brilliant. Maybe I just need to buy a different shade and I might change my mind slightly? I've heard quite a few people like it, but I was slightly disappointed. If anyone else has used this please let me know, would love to hear what you think! :)

Possibly worth a try

Beauty Bite: FashionistA Blusher and Double Take Lipstick

So I recently had a look at the MUA website to discover the brand of FashionistA! That's not a reoccuring typo there, the 'A' at the end genuinely is capitalised and I have no idea why! If anyone knows, let me know!
I was glad to discover that these items were all on sale! A perfect time to buy a product. I bought a Fashionista blusher in 'glowing' and two Double Take lipsticks in 'Baby doll pink' and 'natural pink'.
Now let's start with the blusher...

MUA's website claims:
"15 amazing shades to suit everyone. They are really soft and pretty, apply to the apples of the cheeks"

I'll admit when I saw the shade online, it looked a lot more of a pink shade but in reality, the blusher is a lot darker than you expect! So don't be fooled by the picture on the website! However, I still like the shade and I will still use it as it's a lovely colour. It's also a much smaller size than I expected, but for the sale price as £1.65 you can't really complain! This is a bargain as the original price previous to FashionsitA becoming part of the MUA brand was £4 which isn't that bad either.
I brushed some on of the blusher and found that it gives a brilliant natural flush to your cheeks which is easily buildable. It also has a slight shimmer in it which gives a nice subtle shine to your cheeks which means in my case, no need for a highlighter! The shimmer isn't too much like some blushers which can often go over the top by adding glitter etc. The consistency is great, being slightly creamy but still a powder. On the other hand, I found that when I use the blusher, it leads to a lot of excess powder and can be a tad messy and also uses up the blusher faster. I wouldn't go as far as calling it chalky, but beware it does get powdery in the packaging when applying.

On to the lipsticks...

Now here come my favourites! I purchased these lovely lipsticks at only £3 which were on sale (Original price £7) in the shades 'Baby doll pink' and 'Natural pink'. I also wished I purchased the shade raspberry but for some odd reason I didn't!

The MUA website says:

"A catwalk essential, our range of long-lasting, colour-rich lipsticks are available in 10 timelessly chic shades and are a favourite at Fashion Week , and for creating on-trend looks on the red carpet. Lusciously creamy in texture, the unique formula leaves a full-pigmented, modern matte finish while hydrating for maximum comfort for high impact, velvety smooth lips."
To start off, I adore the packaging! It's a shiny plastic made to look like metal which makes it seem a lot more expensive than it actually it. Also, the packaging is different! I'm happy to have a lipstick that isn't your typical black packaging which the same shape. Safe to say these are easily recognisable in your makeup bag or handbag!
So MUA say that these are 'long-lasting' and in my opinion they are completely right to say so! These lipsticks last a long amount of time. They stay virtually the same as you applied them for hours!
The shades are beautiful! I was unbelievably happy with them, they are incredibly pigmented and give lovely matte finish without drying your lips out and making them flaky. The texture is creamy and really nice to apply and the shape of the lipstick makes it easy to fill your lips in with the colour.

Thanks to the long-lasting staying power of the lipsticks, when you take them off they sort of stain your lips lightly so you still have a colour to your lips even after removing the lipstick.
However, I would say make sure that your lips are moisturised before applying this lipstick as it tends to cling on to dry skin which makes your lips appear even more dry.
Overall, I was impressed with FashionistA, especially their lipsticks. However, I will admit I was slightly disappointed with the blusher but yet it was still a good buy for the price I paid. If you have the chance to buy the lipsticks, I definitely would recommend them! If you have tried them or want to try them, let me know what you think!
Give them a go!
